What documents should be submitted with the Family Reunification Application?
If you have been granted refugee status and wish to apply for family reunification of a family member and/or a dependent family member you must apply in writing with the documents listed below to Family Reunification Section (INIS) at the following address:

The following list outlines the required documentation that must be submitted in support of each application. The list of documentary evidence required to be submitted in support of an application for family reunification is not exhaustive. These requirements do not limit the discretion of a deciding officer to request additional documentation or information in determining an individual application.
You must clearly specify your current address and provide documentary evidence. For example, a current utility bill.
Your application must set out clearly the name and date of birth of the family member/dependent family member who is the subject of the application.
Your application must set out clearly the current address of family member/dependent family member who is the subject of the application.
You must submit an original birth certificate/national identity document and passport/travel document of the person who is the subject of the family reunification application.
You must submit original marriage certificates, divorce certificates, death certificates, evidence of custodial rights where applicable.
You must submit documentary evidence of dependency in respect of an application for a dependent family member. For example original money transfer receipts, bank
- You must state your reference number and submit documentary evidence of your refugee status in Ireland.
- You must provide documentary evidence of your identity, where available. For example, your original birth certificate and travel document.
statements, postal order receipts, detailed current medical reports setting out the nature of any physical/mental incapacity (where applicable).
You must submit a current passport photograph of the family member/dependent family member.
Applications for family reunification and supporting documentation provided to the Family Reunification Section (INIS) are acknowledged and referred to the Family Reunification Unit (ORAC) for investigation. Family Reunification Unit (ORAC) issues a questionnaire to the refugee for completion to assist in the investigation of the application. The ORAC investigates the relationship between the refugee and the person who is the subject of the application and the domestic circumstances of the person. The ORAC may request certain information and documentary evidence it considers necessary in order to complete its investigation.
